School-based PT Essentials: On-Demand Symposium for New Practitioners
12 Seminars for $449
New to school-based physical therapy?
This on-demand symposium is designed for PTs and PTAs transitioning from clinical or home practice into the school setting, and new graduates. It also provides a practical refresher for experienced school-based PTs and PTAs who want to stay current with evidence, regulations, and best practices.
Learn directly from leading experts in school-based and pediatric practice as they explain the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in educational settings. Topics address the real responsibilities of school-based PT practice, including evaluations, goal setting, intervention planning, service delivery, documentation, collaboration with general education, special education, and APE teachers, and compliance with laws and regulations.
Gain evidence-based strategies you can apply with students from pre-kindergarten through high school who have a wide range of motor abilities and support needs. You will also explore multiple laws and regulations impacting school-based practice, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), American Disabilities Act (ADA) including Section 504, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) so you can make clinically sound, educationally relevant decisions, and participate meaningfully in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and other school meetings.
Whether you are preparing for your first school-based PT position, transitioning from a medical model, or refreshing your current practice, this symposium will help you build confidence and provide effective, student-centered physical therapy services in schools.
