Is Apply EBP approved to offer school-based PT courses with PT CEUs?
Apply EBP offers many continuing education courses for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, with PT approval information listed on each individual course page. Note that unlike AOTA and ASHA, APTA does not approved continuing education courses. PT continuing education requirements and approval vary by state, so practitioners should review the course page carefully to confirm the approval status and number of hours. Are these courses designed for school-based PTs and PTAs?
Yes. Many Apply EBP courses are developed with school-based physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in mind. We also offer multi-disciplinary courses for PT, OT, and SLP practitioners, along with educators and other school team members. These school-based PT courses may cover educationally relevant assessment, IEP goal development, service delivery, documentation, assistive technology, adaptive equipment, mobility, positioning, participation, collaboration, and supporting students across school routines.
Are multi-disciplinary courses helpful for school-based PT practitioners?
Yes. School-based PTs and PTAs often collaborate with OTs, OTAs, SLPs, SLPAs, teachers, administrators, families, and other IEP team members. Multi-disciplinary school-based PT continuing education can help PT practitioners understand how different disciplines contribute to a student’s access, participation, mobility, independence, and progress in school. It can also support stronger team decision-making, improve carryover across school environments, and help team members work from a shared understanding. I am new to school-based physical therapy. Where should I start?
