Is a tight budget limiting your ability to promote physical activity in school and/or at home? In this course, Amy combines the benefits of recycling and physical activity to create motor kits on a tight budget. She will introduce you to her recyclable motor kit that you can easily put together with families and teachers.
Amy will show you multiple photographs to illustrate use of real-world recycled household items to integrate movement into the classroom and reinforce learning of math, language, and other academic concepts. Amy will also show you how you can use the same recyclables to promote physical activity at home.

Amy M. Schlessman, PT, DPT, DHSc is a therapist working for almost 20 years primarily in the school-based setting, promoting physical activity embedded into academics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the use of technology in therapy, while closely working with educators, administrators, therapists, and parents. She is an assistant professor in the DPT program at Tufts University in Phoenix Arizona. She has conducted numerous dynamic presentations for teachers, parents and therapists regionally and nationally. She also published an activity book, “Recycle Bin Boogie: Move and Learn with Recyclables,” which combines movement and learning with common, household recyclables.
