Daniella Rutner, OD, MS, MBA, FAAO is the Chief of Vision Rehabilitation at the University Eye Center and an Associate Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry. She earned both her Doctor of Optometry and Masters of Vision Science degrees from SUNY College of Optometry. Daniella loves improving the visual function of her clients to impact their lives in a meaningful way, such as via helping children to read and learn, and supporting the ADLs of clients with stroke or brain injuries.

At the completion of the course, you are expected to:

1. 1. Identify 3 symptoms that should prompt referral to a vision care provider
   2. Determine 3 tests or screening tools for identifying visual perception deficits
   3. Determine 3 adaptations to support the everyday function and learning of children with identified vision deficits
   4. Select 3 activities to teach the family to support the vision skills development of children with identified vision deficits

Webinar 2: 1.5 hour of lecture

    • Impact on Learning and Other Functions (4 minutes)
    • Vision Deficits on the “Camera Film”: Visual Memory, Visual Sequential Memory, Visual Discrimination, Spatial Relations, Visual Closure, Figure Ground, Form Constancy, Visual Motor Integration, Laterality and Directionality (73 minutes)
      • Symptoms, Screening, Referral, and Activities to Send Home
    • Case Study (12 minutes)

Post-tests: 10-item multiple choice. 70% correct answers required to receive a certificate for each webinar.

A Total of 3 CE hours of training

• • • For each seminar, you will receive 1.5 hours of CE training after watching each video, passing the post-test (with a score of 70% or higher), and completing the course evaluation.
