Pamela Cummings, M.Ed., PT has over 30 years of experience in various areas of pediatric physical therapy: school-based, home-based, perinatal care, NICU, PICU, inpatient, and clinic-based.   She is the Director and PT Consultant for the I-Team Early Intervention Project and the 24-Hour Postural Care Project, supporting local providers in their work with children and young adults with motor disorders.  Both projects use a technical assistance and training model and are housed at the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion at the University of Vermont.

 

Lori Potts, PT obtained her PT degree at Upstate Medical University College of Health Professions in 1995. She is a certified MOVE International Trainer (Mobility Opportunities Via Education). She currently works at Esopus Medical, PC with pediatric and adult clients. Since 2005, Lori has worked with Rifton, consulting for product design and providing resources for consumer and client education.

 

Joanne Bundonis, PT, PCS, ATP/SMS, C/NDT is head of physical therapy at 1st Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey. She is certified as a pediatric specialist from ABPTS since 2001. Joanne is certified as an Assistive Technology Practitioner from RESNA since 2003 and as a Seating and Mobility Specialist in 2024. Joanne is a certified Neurodevelopmental Treatment provider since 2002 as well She was a trainer for Mobility Research on their Litegait products and created numerous pediatric home study courses. Joanne is published on Transition Care in CP, Benefits of Early Mobility and Pediatric Strength Training.

      5. Differentiate between the role of a current seating assessment and a mat assessment in the comprehensive evaluation process
      6. Apply three strategies from the comprehensive seating assessment steps to a case study of a child or youth with complex disabilities.
      7. Identify 3 benefits of adaptive standing for children with disabilities
      8. Determine 3 considerations for optimizing outcomes of adaptive standing programs for children with disabilities
      9. Apply 3 action items for a successful adaptive standing program on a given case study of a child with physical disabilities
      10. Determine 3 considerations when deciding whether it is appropriate to address an equipment issue or not
      11. Identify the 3 keys to equipment readiness for use when participating in school or in the community
      12. Apply 3 strategies for caring for the equipment on given case studies of children or adults with disabilities
