FAQs about Apply EBP Courses and Kentucky CEUs for PTs and PTAs
Explore answers to most frequently asked questions.
Are Apply EBP courses approved by APTA for CEUs?
Unlike AOTA and ASHA, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) does not approve continuing education courses. PT and PTA continuing education approval requirements vary by state. For Kentucky PT and PTAs, courses that count for continued competency are described in 201 KAR 22:045. Apply EBP CE courses that are 3 hours or longer are considered Category 1, while courses that are shorter than 3 hours fall under Category 2, as they have been approved by other state boards of physical therapy (e.g., PT boards in Illinois, New Mexico, New York, and Oklahoma) and an APTA Chapter (e.g., Texas Physical Therapy Association). If you have any questions about continuing education approval, please email carlo@applyebp.com.
Where can I find Apply EBP courses appropriate for Kentucky PT and PTA CEUs?
See the lists of live workshops, on-demand webinars, and school symposiums. Click on a course you are interested in and review the CEU approval information, including the number of CE hours, audience, and instructional level. If a course’s intended audience includes PTs and PTAs, such course is counted as continued competency for Kentucky PT and PTA. You can also email carlo@applyebp.com if you have any questions.
Do I receive a certificate after completing a course?
Yes. Participants who successfully complete the course requirements receive a certificate of completion or attendance which includes course approvals for various states. Requirements may include attending or viewing the course, completing attendance checks or assessments, and submitting a course evaluation.
If you are completing on-demand webinars as part of a bundle or as part of a symposium, email Vicki after completing all the webinars you wanted to complete and she will send you one certificate that contains the total contact hours. If the total contact hours are 3 hours or more, it may count as Category 1 continued competency.
Who should I contact if I am not sure whether a course is offered for Kentucky PT CEUs?
If you are unsure whether a specific Apply EBP school-based PT course is appropriate for PT and PTA CEUs in Kentucky, email carlo@applyebp.com before registering.
