About Us
Apply EBP was launched in 2017 by Carlo Vialu, PT, MBA with his unique mission of providing evidence-informed continuing education courses for occupational and physical therapy practitioners, speech and language pathologists, and educators to benefit their clients.
“It is an exciting time to be a pediatric therapist! Tons of evidence are coming out. But they often stay in the ‘research’ world. Our continuing education courses translate these evidence into your real-world therapy practice so you can gain updated knowledge and tools for improved client outcomes, and personal job fulfillment!” – Carlo Vialu, Director of Continuing Education
As such, Apply EBP brings a thoughtfully selected cadre of expert mentors, who are not just committed evidence translators, but also dynamic speakers who inspire as much as they teach. Each Apply EBP course involves months of Apply EBP and mentors working closely to create courses with the perfect balance of evidence and practice, and clinical reasoning tools to further learning, and to design practical toolkits that participants can utilize to apply the skills they have gained the very next day.
Apply EBP is furthering the discovery, consumption and application of published evidence with its Free Resources and YouTube channel articles, videos, and infographics that are free to share.

Your Apply EBP Team
Carlo Vialu, PT, MBA
Director of Continuing Education
Carlo has worked in various clinical settings from hospitals to home care and school-based practice. From January 2008 to January 2017, he served as Director of PT for the New York City Schools. It was during that time that he saw the power of an evidence-informed continuing education program in transforming the practice in the organization.
He has presented in workshops internationally and nationally, including at the APTA, AOTA and ASHA conferences. With Laurie Ray, he co-founded SeekFreaks, a free online evidence-based resource for pediatric OTs, PTs and SLPs. Over 130 articles later, the natural evolution is a continuing education platform – and so Apply EBP was born!
Vicki Chu, PT, MA
Director of Operations
Vicki has been practicing for over 20 years in a variety of settings including early intervention, acute care, NICU, inpatient, outpatient and private practice, with a primary focus in the school-based practice. Prior to joining Apply EBP, she was the Physical Therapy Manager of the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE).
She is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and has taught several continuing education courses in the NYC DOE, at the APTA’s Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy’s Annual Conference, and in Taiwan. She is passionate about life-long learning and enabling the full potential in our children and youth with disabilities!
