Lou Ann Hintz, PhD, OTR

Lou Ann Hintz, PhD, OTR is an Assistant Professor at Texas Woman’s University and PhD Program Co-Coordinator with over 15 years of school-based occupational therapy experience. Her research focuses on occupational therapy’s role in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including her doctoral dissertation on teachers’ experiences with OT-led MTSS interventions and her recent scoping review published in the Journal of Occupational Therapy, Schools, and Early Intervention. Dr. Hintz previously served as an Occupational Therapy Team Lead in Plano ISD for 10 years and continues to advocate for evidence-based, preventive approaches to school-based practice. She has presented widely at the state and national levels.
