COURSE DESCRIPTION

Struggling with how to help students with disabilities access our everyday technologies to support their educational needs? Lacking funds to purchase expensive software and extensions to accommodate your student’s needs? This workshop is everything you have been searching for!

Discover surprising tools that are free and built into our everyday technology devices, whether you are using an iPad, Chromebook, PC, MAC or Android tablet.  We will interact with those accessibility features and others that support students with vision problems, hearing difficulties and those with neurodiversity (dyslexia, seizures, autism and other cognitive differences).  You will have the opportunity to turn on, explore and use the built-in accessibility features that help create greater access to everyday technologies for students with sensory, physical and cognitive challenges.

We will match appropriate accessibility features to solve case scenarios, which may include how to help students with vision problems, hearing difficulties, or those with neurodiversity (dyslexia, seizures, autism, and other cognitive differences).  As a BONUS, you will leave with a collaboratively created toolbox of accessibility features that you can access online so you can implement these tools immediately.

Technology need: To optimize exploration of apps & extensions, attendees are required to bring a technology device that you typically utilize. Some examples: iPad, Chromebook, PC, Mac or Android tablet
